I don't see anything wrong or abnormal with wanting to spend a dinner or two alone with my husband! There will be 22 other meals that we spend together as a family, not to mention the numerous other things that we will do for the children's sake & not our own.
To my mind, a family holiday should have something for everyone. There are certainly things that my husband & 13yo will do together while the 3yo & I stay at the apartment. We don't have to spend 24/7 together for it to count as a family holiday
