offering any special deals for IndoJet passengers. They are Commercial Operators - and in any case I wonder what the philosophy of IndoJet would have been had "the shoe been on the other foot".
When Air Paradise collapsed, it was made as a Public Announcement by the Airline - NOT the case with IndoJet which is trying to cover its tracks by claiming a "Flight Suspension" pending procurement of an alternative Airline to handle their business. The fact that their offices in both Perth and Bali are closed would lead one to think that this is much more than a "Flight Suspension", however only time and on-going investigations will reveal the true facts!
I was operating my Travel Agency in Adelaide when Air Paradise collapsed and ceased flying immediately - also leaving many people stranded in Bali and ticket-holders in Australia with useless pieces of paper.
In their case, Garuda Indonesia and Qantas came to the party with heavily reduced fares for existing Air Paradise ticket-holders in an effort to assist them to maintain their holiday plans (or in the case of others to get home).
I think you will find that had IndoJet handled the whole situation in an honest and professional manner, they would have received full co-operation from the other legitimate carriers who would see this as a way of displaying a sense of good-will and also provide promotion for themselves at the same time.
As Hammockman has said, the Australian Government will almost certainly need to now become involved and help those in financial distress to return to Australia. This will not, however, come as a "gift of the Australian Government" rather as a "loan" for which re-payment will subsequently be required.
