Quick trip on impulse for eight days. Travelled business class Garuda and very comfortable. Excellent service save that we were delayed due to winds etc by one hour - no biggie - was glad to be back in the isle of smiles.
Had used Bali net for VIP/VOA previously - which I really enjoyed. Decided to go with Hadi this trip. I know that a lot of people have recommended Hadi and yes he was cheaper - but ended up collecting my bags from carousel whilst still wondering (ten minutes later) where Hadi's assistant was with my passport. Made me feel a little uncomfortable. I only met Hadi himself once I was out of customs and waiting for driver from villa. May have been a differnt situation if flight had been on time - I don't know but would prefer the bali net service next time. Glad that I did take on this service once again - the queues were huge and a lot of flights had landed at the time (the Garduda flight was full).
Stayed at Bali Dream Villas - absolutely wonderful. They provided me with a two bedroom villa on the night of arrival (king bed one level and two singles upstairs) in error - excellent. I had booked a one bedroom and made them aware of this the next day. Was however good to have a look at the two bedroom - very nice. My one bedroom villa (stil wonderful) consisted of own private pool, living area, kitchen, security, breakfast etc. Excellent rate through wotif ($149US pn) and better than their own rate. My only negative would be that they don't have "do not disturb signs". Otherwise, great place which provides a driver to your destination on 30 minutes notice and will do a pick up (Legian, Kuta etc) until 10.30pm at night (no charge). Rate also included transfers to and from airport. There were two choices re. breakfast - take a driver to their other villa (five minutes away) or have b/f in your room - tried the other villa first day, continued with b/fast in room each day after.
Finally purchased the jewellery I saw in Seminyak in Jan (search the archives for details) and the result was excellent - very helpful jeweller and excellent prices for silver.
Rate I obtained on the street was 8,000 for the AU$.
Made it once again to Echo Beach and the chicken pie on a Sunday night was excellent. Also tried the prawn bbq - excellent. Glad we got there before 5.00pm for a seat.
Great printing completed by the guy across the road from Indo National in Padma Street (great food especially the pizza) - went out of his way to assist.
That's about it - cept that I will never buy a dvd from a shop owner who says that "it is 95% best quality" - one never stops learning! But who cares - I lost a $.......
Weather fantastic - 31c during the day and lovely cool nights (for Bali)- great time to go.
Happy to answer any questions.
