"diluting" of spirits seems to be the norm rather than the exception.
We complained about it at one regularly mentioned eating place on this forum, and were told that it was due to the "ice melting too quick".
Yeah right!!
A temporary solution is to take the duty free Malibu, gin or vodka, or even all three if it's a big one, decanted into a water bottle, add to a good fruit juice, and voila!!
When that dries up, you can consider buying the relatively cheap "Mansion House" type local spirits, and doing the same.
No one seems to mind, as long as you are buying food, or spending money somehow, especially in the "not upmarket" places.
I never drink "tap" beers in Bali, for the same reason as above.
