OzJet Perth B737s grounded indefinitely

OzJet Wednesday confirmed that it had suspended its fleet of Boeing 737s which had previously operated out of Perth, as it was unable to get approval to operate cargo services.

CASA's rejection of the carrier's application to operate cargo services significantly impacted OzJet's ability to increase revenue. OzJet says suspending the services with immediate effect "substantially reduced OzJet's overhead expenses"

"Subsequent monies owed from one of the airline's primary customers, IndoJet, had further exacerbated the situation and as a result OzJet Airlines has now sub-contracted Alliance Airlines to continue operating its Perth-Derby route and other general charter obligations," adds a spokesperson for OzJet.

The suspension of the Perth services effectively sees OzJet stop flying in Australia.

OzJet owns four Boeing B737s, but only its Perth to Derby service was operated under the OzJet banner.
