Think "freight" may be a "red herring"

Jerry.

OzJet was apparently charted by Indo Jet who should hold rights over all revenue collected - both passengers and freight (if allowed)- otherwise it would seem to me to be "double-dipping" on the part of Ozjet. Nor can I contemplate carriage of freight to Derby being a huge revenue-earner.

It appears to me from the E-Travel Blackboard article that part of Ozjet's financial problems has eminated from monies owed to it by Indo Jet.

With the Perth/Denpasar route now well-served by sound commercial airlines, it must have become more-and-more difficult for Indojet to sustain loadings and at the same time match the incentive fares offered by the other carriers being a stand-alone Wholesaler having to pay fixed charter fees regardless of loadings. The commercial carriers are able to off-set losses (particularly for an introductory period) against their pofits from other routes.

Surely the "writing would have been on the wall" as Perth Airport Authorities would surely not have taken the action they did without persuing all available options to recover outstanding monies before resorting to inconveniencing passengers and disrupting their holiday plans.

If reports that there were no representative from Indojet at the airport to both explain the circumstances and offer their passengers every possible assistance, then their behavious is reprehensible - even worse if they still alowed bookings to be made via their Website while the future of their services was/is in doubt.
