We have recently returned from staying at the BGH and had one of the old rooms at the front. They were appalling! I have never stayed in a room that bad. The courtyard was full of weeds, the tiles were cracked on the floor and in the bathroom and the room just smelt old and awful.
I would never stay there again. Mind you, the pool area was ok and the breakfast was good, but as far as the old rooms go you can do much better.
Hope this helps. If you can get a room up the front near the pool,,,go for it!
