What a joke, particularly as the article posted on Air Paradise Website indicates "flights within Australia" with NO mention of International Routes outside Australia.
There would be no way they could pass scrutiny of CASA or other Australian Authorities if they were contemplating flying very old "buckets of bolts" as they were prior to the "Pak Kadek Saga" of old.
Also, why would any carrier even contemplate entering an already-saturated Australian Domestic Market in which even professional operators with modern aircraft fleets are "battling" under the present World Economic Situation?
There would be so many obstacles attached to any plan to re-enter the Australian market, including primarily, the huge amounts of monies owed to Wholesalers, Travel Agents and the General Public. I for one would be waiting in what would be a VERY LONG line with my cap-in-hand looking for the AU$70,000+ which the Air Paradise collapse cost my Travel Agency due to refunds made by Banks/Credit Card Companies to their clients (taken straight from our Bank without any consideration being given to the fact that all monies accepted had been on-forwarded to Wholesalers who in turn had on-forwarded after ticketing to Air Paradise - plus the fact that many of my clients had actually held their tickets for up to Six Months prior to the collapse).
Air Paradise is one of a number of Airlines which has been issued with an ultimatum by the Indonesian Government - Meet safety conditions, have minimum fleet requirements and re-commence servicing regular routes - or have operational Licences rescinded. I thought this deadline had passed but if not, it must be awfully close. Perhaps this is just a last-minute "grasping at straws".
