Save all your contacts to your phone, that way you don't have to transfer them to the sim card when you get it. I find the sim cards are available everywhere - ie most mini marts etc sell them. I usually get the XL (?) one but I think there's a better one available. In November I paid about Rp100,000 that covered the cost of the card and a lot of credit. Txt msgs cost around Rp500 to send to Aussie.
