Sanur Beach Hotel seems to have a number of room descriptions that sound similar but the location is quite different. Can't recall if the wing you speak of is actually called the Krisna Wing but it sounds logical and if they describe the rooms in this wing as Ocean-view Deluxe, then these are in the wing that directly overlooks the main pool and the beach - it's the addition of the word Deluxe in the room description that differentiates this accommodation from the next option called Ocean-view rooms.
I think the Krisna wing is the most recent addition to the property -although I think it may have been built in the mid to late 80's. Neverthless, the rooms are modern, quite spacious and have good sized bathrooms. They also have feature a balcony large enough to relax on (I've enjoyed the odd bevvie or five out there myself over the years!). Most of the rooms have an excellent views of the beach and main pool (which is more like small lake!)and they represent excellent value for money I reckon. Obviously the ground level rooms don't have the elevation to see a long way out but the view across the pool through to the beach is still pretty speccy! If an "all-over" view is your prefernce then opt for the 2nd or 3rd floor.
About the only downside to this wing is the fact that it is a reasonable distance from the hotel's front desk and main entrance. For the elderly or people with walking difficulties this may be an issue - for everyone else you won't give it a second thought!
The Ocean-view (or seaview) rooms also have a view of the water, however this part of the hotel is set back a bit further and has a fair amount of garden and palm trees between the room outlook and the beach itself. I'm also not sure if these rooms feaure a balcony -perhaps not. Having not stayed in these rooms I cannot offer any firsthand advice on the size and fitout - but other than a slightly cheaper room rate I believe they are no different.
The Garden View rooms are in a wing at the opposite end of the property and as they name implies, they mostly overlook the hotel's expansive gardens. Some rooms face the ocean however thne view is quite compromised by palm trees etc.
The last room grade is the "Standard" rooms. Many of these overlook the front entrance road and appear smaller and not as well appointed as other room grades (unless they have been refurbed in recent years). Garuda often uses these rooms to overnight flights crews and passengers who have had their flights delayed or cancelled.
Personally, I reckon the Sanur Beach represents great value for money. In some small ways the property is showing its age a bit but it is beautifully maintained and has so much to offer. If you can see past a few minor cosmetic issues it delivers a great experience.
The hotel has a bank on site, an office for Garuda (handy if that is your airline) and plenty of other amenities. On the beachside there are watersports, a heap of dining options - including the famous Donalds and of course the waterside walking path that takes you form one end of Sanur to the other goes right past your back door! On street side it's all good too: a general store is right out front togther with a laundry service (much cheaper than the hotel's option and no less efficient!), an ATM, heaps of dining places including the Trophy Bar at the front gate and the famous Cat & Fiddle (directly opposite no less!).
Suffice to say... I think you'll be pleased with your choice of Hotel! Cheers - kevin
