Sorry Michie that your experience was sub standard. I reported honestly on our experience. We were more than happy with rooms as were the other couple who travelled with us. We have all been to Bali on numerous occasions and stayed at many different places. I guess as they say it's horses for courses! As for your bed collapsing - that is most unfortunate. We did not feel that others could see into our room at all. In regards to the curtains we found ours adequate. One of the other rooms near us did have a sarong hanging across for extra darkness as the occupant was a late sleeper. We were up with the kids early so didn't bother us.
I know many that have paid a lot to stay in "bigger and better" places and have had all sorts of strife such as no room available on arrival and cold running water only.
Hope that your experience next time is much better wherever you decide to stay. As always there are no guarantees!!
