An acquaintance of mine loved teaching so much that she worked out of school hours every week-night, making posters, thinking up new ways to make learning enjoyable for her students, etc etc .... and that was just grade one! Her class would have been a wonderful beginning to education for any child. There are countless dedicated teachers like her.
I've noticed how much out of school hours counselling TAFE and university lecturers do too. Probably isn't any different for primary and secondary school teachers.
