Sunshine unfortunately slipped on some unmarked slippery surface, coming out of a massage balai in Puteri Bali, Legian. Her left ankle swelled up alarmingly and we decided to go, after two days, to S.O.S. Medika Clinik on the bye-pass near to Kuta.

Our impression of this establishment was of a modern, well-run Hospital. The staff were all English speaking Balinese or Javanese, highly qualified and very attentive; the healing hand was always on the patient and nothing was too good for her. Charming people.

The initial Consult Fee was US$68 and all other fees were clearly annotated in both currencies. All queries were answered immediately and no "Medical Mystique" was in evidence; all straight and normal and no persuasion to take a bed for a week or the like.

Ten out of ten in our book.
