Just returned to Perth yesterday after a fabulous 6 nights in Paradise. This was my 25th trip and its still just as exciting. We stayed at The Dynasty (again) which as always was fantastic. Weather, of course, was very humid. There were not many sales on and Mata Hari in Kuta Galleria is undergoing huge renovations so shopping wasn't great there. The exchange rate varied but was approx 7100 - 7400.
The streets are quiet - not a lot of tourists around at all!! We did venture out in the evenings but only for dinner. Had a beautiful meal at Bali Colada (Centro)- I think it would rate as one of our best so deserves a mention.
We visited our friend's village (in Tabanan area)again. His dear mum had cooked lunch for us which included little curly things that resembled char fried onion rings. Alas they weren't - apparently they were little 'snake-like' things found just beneath the ground surface. AAAAHHHH- however, they're heavily covered in chili and my friend knows I don't eat chili so only one or two bites and I was excused from eating any more - phew. The fresh coconut juice and bananas were awesome as usual.
All in all we (four ladies)had a fantastic time - and probably thanks to our good friend/driver/tour guide/chaperone Wawan we felt very safe.
Cheers, Cath
