I have just returned from Bali on Tuesday , it is not dangerous in Bali as has been reported in Australian media.
Things are quite normal around town , no troops or police on the streets as was reported in Australia.
I would not worry about taking your kids , just use a bit of common sense ,keep away from crowded areas etc.
The security in the hotels and shopping centres is very good ,the airport is very secure as well.
I was not keen on the Bombers being executed but the Balinese wanted it,some even celebrated ,I do not believe in capital punishment , that was my reason.
I am returning to Bali in 9 weeks with my daughters and grand children ,If I thought there was any danger I would advise them not to go.
You will have a ball and the kids will love it.
I am from Perth and I feel safer in Bali than walking around Northbridge.
