It is now a lot more secure in Bali ,at that time know one was expecting anything like that ,now the area is very secure , all vehicles are thoroughly searched at the ferry terminal from Java , I was in Bali a few days before the bomb and back there ten days later so I know just how bad it was ,I was also in Bali when the 2 small bombs killed more people.
You could get killed on the trip over if the aircraft crashed.stay home if you are that worried,
I dont think you could enjoy yourself in Bali anyway.
