Out of all the experiences you had on your trip, this is the one that you are telling us about, and in 20 years time is probably the thing you will mostly remember about that trip. Sounds more like a meal worth remembering to me. Although not exactly pleasant, one of those uniquely Bali experiences you will only have by getting away from the tourist areas.
