If the housekeeping has been good i tip on the last day or second last day of my stay. I don't leave it in the room because the perosn/s it's intended for may not receive it. Eg, If i'm checking-out the person who checks the room will get the money. I put it in an envelope and hand it directly to the cleaning staff with a verbal thanks.
