Years ago, when we were planning on going back to Bali after 20yrs, I found this forum and read that it was a nice idea to leave money on the room pillows as a tip for the housekeepers. We do this every trip, but lately I have been wondering whether it is still a nice idea to do this? I heard recently that it is a bit "patronising" to leave them a tip. What do you think? Do you leave/give tips to the locals for their work? We always give extra to the taxi drivers, etc.. and no-one has ever complained! Would be interested in opinions. Thanks.
