Like many others I have been worrying about the flight I've paid for which is return from KL September 08 as it appears that these flights Sept on are cancelled. After reading comments in this forum and being worried I'd only be offered a refund when it was too late to book another flight, I today contacted the Dept of Fair Trading. They advised me that since I have already paid and been issued with a seat number, Jetstar are obliged to offer me a flight home. If they can't provide that service they must get us back, even if it us using another Airline. They also advise that if they use another airline and there is a cost involved which Jetstar try to charge us more, then we have can claim compensation through the tribunal. They must provide a flight, it can be after the date booked, a different time and date, but not before the date booked. You have to look closely at the Terms and Conditions which I have found on the internet site. "The airline does not guarantee it will be able to carry you and your Baggage in accordance with the date and time of the flights specified." So I think this pretty much explains to all of those people who are concerned they won't get back that they can relax and wait for Jetstar to contact them. You can do as I did if you are worried and ring the Dept Fair Trading.
