and I know how painful it can be. The good news it that it usually resolves after 8-10 months. Mine did, and I felt much better. Crocs are those funny shoes you have described, and I don't think they would be deep enough at the heel to keep an othotic in. However, because I aslo have dodgy ankles... (yes I am old CROC!) if I know I am going to have a big walking day, then I wear runners, with anklet socks. Support my feet much better and I can walk further. So you could wear your othotic in your runners. Whilst they can be a bit hot sometimes, it is much better than sore feet!
