As for money, a set amount was never discussed because i bought an offering basket made of dried leaves from Ubud market, and amongst the bits and pieces normally given as an offering, it contained money for Ketut. We placed it next to him with all the other baskets. :)
I have never heard of 'Dakshina' but i understand what you are saying.
