ring consumer affairs and just ask them for advice first and if they say you have a reason to involve them, ring Jet Star back and tell them that you have been in contact with consumer affairs etc.
Good luck, I find your treatment to be totally unacceptable, and I will be horrified if they just leave you in the lurch like that.
