used to work at the Hyatt in Bali whom now works on the Carribean Cruise ships he is currently on his 5th contract...
He said they are instructed to be below deck at all times as the European guests dont wnat to see coloured people (his words).
Having spoken in depth to him about it, it sounded extremely racist & degrading. He starts work at 9pm & finishes at 11am 7 days a week... He said they must wear trackers on board & if they move outside of their work area a beeper goes off & they are in trouble, he also had to pay almost $5,000 US to start with the company.
His older Brother dsid it for 7yrs & now owns his own home & a small Warung & laundry in bBli & is doing well.
However our friend has excellent English skills but gets terrible seasickness & cannot handle the Phillipinno cooks cooking (lots of vinegar apparently) so gets quite unwell, he also has an Electronics addiction & has a large range of electronics & mens Perfume!
We told him not to spend any of his money next trip & hopefully then he will be able to buy his won place in Bali... But he siad he would have much preffered to have stayed at the Hyatt now & regrets leaving to work on the Cruise Ships where he receives NO respect!
