How straight do you want it? As much as you get sick of persistant people flaming. I get sick of people whinging for no reason. Also you didn't reply and say thanks for the info.

Hi,

They are everywhere, they will find you before you have to look for a place to hire them. Many people just hire them straight off the street, no shop etc. Just go for a walk, and you will get asked 'Do you want a bike'. Make sure you get the rego papers and that your hiring docket says including insurance. They will always try and charge you Rp.5,000 more for insurance, but you will get it included.

You should pay Rp20-30,000 per day including insurance and a helmet (cheaper the longer you hire) Please note that the cheap plastic helmets are no good, the police will still fine you for wearing them. Just ask the hirer to provide a real helmet.

Have fun, I hire a bike everytime I go to Bali, which is reasonably regular.

Dave
