I don't usually do a JBR as I travel to Bali twice a year and usually do what everyone else does on the forum . Eat at the same places go to the same pubs etc. New years eve this year was different as I spent it with a mates (who works at the Espresso bar)family out in the village on Monang-Maning in Denpasar. I experienced 2 lovely hindu ceremonies which was different with people going in to trances etc. His family have welcomed me into theire lives and said I have to go visit theire village Klungkung when I next visit. The more people I get to know over the years in Bali the more I want to return there. The drive back to Kuta on his bike from Denpasar that night was amazing every village were celebrating and fire crackers going off at every corner. Even the rain did not dampen my spirits. I think it is amazing how the hindu culture and its people (even all the religions in Bali) accept all our festivities and celebrate them as they sure do have enough of theire own to celebrate! They really know how to party and have a good time.
