Hi Leesa
My wife also suffers from garlic and other spice allergies,(not life threatening but bad enough) we found that even when you tell them when you order sometimes there are traces of garlic in the food as a lot is pre prepared or the cook uses knives pots etc that have had garlic on them . It doesnt seem to matter whether who the restaurant is run by or where there is no language barrier, its starts when you order as they have no idea whats in the food.
We usually speak directly to the cook and this stops a lot of problems.
Some Warungs that I know that will look after you are,
Enhays in JL Benesari, Dony and Uni will look after you, or ask for banglie and they know
The Gong near poppies 1, Ketut is the cook and speaks excellent English, has also worked as a cook in Australia
The Tamin sari in Poppies 2,they have always been good
Just make sure you speak to the cook
Cheers
