know as a KITAS. The company who has employed you is responsible for getting the KITAS for you. You can not just get a KITAS and then go looking for work. They are not transferable from company to company. The actual cost is $1,200 U.S. per year after the initial set up costs.
A number of Immigration Companies in Bali are set up to help you obtain various permits. They will of course attempt to rip you off but you can end up with a KITAS through them.
Many of these companies place ads in the Bali Advertiser.
In reality you are meant to have some special skills to be granted a KITAS. However this is often ignored.
The easiest option for a long term stay is the Social Budaya visa, with this you are not permitted to work but can stay in Indonesia for 6 months at a time.
If you are over 55 years of age there is a retirement visa available. However this is for old buggers so I know nothing about that one.
