i personally take about $500 cash, my credit card and my eftpos card. i have never had to use the cash because i have no issue with the ATM. there has been lots of discussion on wether you take cash or cards. most people do not want to pay the transaction fee, but are quite happy to chance the money changer hoping they don't get ripped off. personally i prefer just walking up to a ATM and with drawing cash like i do at home. i have used this process in Bali, Brunei and hong kong with never an issue. each to his own at the end of the day
