Hi all I will try and keep it short but not sure if I can .
1 July - Left Perth on 8 am Gaurda flight we hired a mini bus as there was 8 of us travelling together . Flight uneventful and food was the same as usual , yuk . Arrived on time and straight through VOA but the other family we were travelling with were delayed because of staff training , not a good start for a newbie family . Got luggage and we breezed through customs but again friend didn't she was made to open all cases unsure of what they thought they would find . Out of airport after 1 hour and straight to the Barong , checked in and straight to the bar for welcome drink and to say hi to all the staff. Off to Rainbow Cafe for the standard club sandwich which is becoming our traditional first lunch.Went to the Foo Kin pub for the evening .
2 July - Took the kids to get new clothes today because they had grown out of last years Bali wardrobe . Nathan went and got his hair braided while we all went for a swim . Quick shower and change of clothes and off to Warung 96 for dinner , same food and service as last time . We went to the Reunion Bar so that all the kids could kill the songs at kareoke .
3 July - Today we spent the day wandering around Kuta showing our friends all the different sights and sounds . We went to the foo kin pub again for dinner tonight.
4 July - Lazy day today all the kids had a massage and swam for most of the day . took the kids to Maccas for dinner but the were still hungry so had a second dinner at the Barong , set up the dvd player and they watched dvds till they fell asleep.
5 July - Toady was waterbom park day , the kids love the place but I am over all the stairs lol filled in the whole day there and then went to Krispy Kreme doughnuts on the way back to replenish the kids sugar levels . We went to Amino Cafe for dinner because it is across the road from the Barong , nice meals and reasonable prices .
6 July - Today the kids went on thier first motorbike ride with our friend Robbie who is based outside the Barong . We then walked up to the Bintang Supermarket and got the kids some toys . We stopped at the foo kin pub for the afternoon and then went back to the Barong so the kids could practice with thier juggling sticks.
7 july - Our friends were really tired this morning , I think that they weren't prepared for how much walking we would do so we left them asleep and went for breakky and then took our kids dvd and gameboy game shopping , when we got back they had had breakky and were ready for another full day . We went down to the beach and played for awhile , went back got changed and walked down to Daddy's cafe for dinner and to see Putu (the one with the long hair) food and service as good as always. Walked slowly back to the Barong and crashed .
8 July - Today we got Robbie to take us all to the Bali Zoo , the zoo was great and I can't wait to see it when they finish the renovations . We went to the Bird park on the way back but didn't stay long as we had seen enough birds for one day and the kids were all starting to get on each others nerves . We went to Nasi bali for dinner tonight , the food was great but the mossies were horrid so we didn't stay there for dessert. We went to the Ratu restaurant for dessert and it was disgusting we waited for nearly an hour for our food and then it wasn't edibile . So stopped at the mini mart and got the kids an ice cream and drink .
9 July - We took our friend down to Mr Dolphins today so she could get a tattoo , while she was getting done we took all the kids down to the beach for a pineapple each , her kids were amazed at the woman cutting the pineapples . We walked back to the resort and had a quiet night in.
10 July - We all got up early and had a quick breakky because we were being picked up at 9 for the ghost palace tour , it was a really great day out even with the unscheduled stop at the Lake Bratan lol . The place is huge and its so sad to see how much work has gone into something just to let it sit there and rot. Off to the markets and lunch at Cracker's bar and grill , wow the toilets are something to see . Then off to Pacung to see David's villas and the monkeys . Back to Kuta and off to the Taman Sari for dinner , great food but the serves were a little on the small side for our families . We went to Amino Cafe for dessert , oh yum .
11 July - Waterbom park again today , the kids went feral all day again while we mainly spent the day relaxing in the gazebo only venturing out to go on a few slides when the kids wouldn't stop bugging us . We walked back slowly and went to Piggy's Bar for dinner which was not the nicest meal . Wandered back to the resort and crashed .
12 July - Went shopping at the traditional markets in kuta this morning and got an umbrella for my statue at home . Had a lazy afternoon and slept or watched dvd's can't remeber bit of both I think . Went to the foo kin pub for dinner and the rest of the evening . Wandered back to the resort and the kids crashed .
13 July - We went shopping at the art markets again today Robbie took the kids down on his bike in two trips , the parents unfortunately had to walk lol . When we got there Ida had the kids all sitting down quietly with a drink and a snack . We went to Aquarius restaurant for dinner tonight and I thought that it was way over priced for what you get and the meals were really not that nice , on the way back we stopped in at the Reunion Bar again so te kids couls show us that they really can't sing . Time for bed.
14 July - Took our kids shoe shopping today as they needed new basketball boots , cheaper here than in Aus but 2 pairs of shoes and I'm bankroopt again lol . On the way back the kids went playstation game shopping with thier own money , five minutes in softcomp and they walked out very happy 35 games later. Warung 96 for dinner again food was better tonight because they weren't so busy .
15 July - Had to take the other kids shoe shopping today for basketball boots , glad I wasn't paying today lol. We went to the foo kin pub for our last dinner and to say goodbye to the staff , slowly wandered back and stopping peridically for ice creams and drinks and treats for the kids so they would keep walking lol.
16 July - Slowly ate breakky this morning because we wanted to delay the sad job of saying goodbye to everyone and the packing . Ok packing done and we are sitting out the front saying goodbye trying not to cry waiting for another bus because the one they sent would only fit our luggage in . Flight left on time same service but really crappy lunch , home on time to the most official customs officer we have ever had , he went through everything ,dirty undies and all lol. we lost a few things because of borers , a word of caution be careful with the wooden puzzles you can buy because unless you pull them apart and check them you will loose them . Also if you let a customs officer pull them apart try and keep them seperated because if not all you end up with is a bag full of pieces that you can't put back together unless you are really brilliant lol.
