I know a lot of people on this forum have used Covermore with no problems, however I would like to let you know of our experience...
We travel overseas once or twice a year and have used Covermore for the last 7 or eight years. We have never had to use the insurance though.
After our last trip to Bali in April we had to make our first and only travel claim for a video camera and camera that were stolen from our hotel. We provided all required information up front with the claim including a letter from the hotel, all invoices etc etc.
We heard nothing from Covermore and after four weeks I contacted them to be advised that a letter had been sent out to us (we have NEVER received this letter) requesting further information.
I emailed this further information to them and waited again.
After two weeks we had again heard nothing so contacted Covermore who advised that just that day (coincidence??) another letter had been sent (which we have also NEVER received) requesting yet more information. This information was emailed to them immediately and again we waited.
That was four weeks ago and we have heard nothing - I emailed Covermore last week asking where the claim was up to. Once again, no response has been forthcoming so today i rang them.
Apparently we will have an answer on our claim today (I am not holding my breath)....
Covermore service has been completely non-existent and have only provided information on the progress of our claim when we have instigated contact - absolutely NO contact has come from them.
It is now over 10 weeks since we lodged this claim....makes you wonder if it is worth having travel insurance to cover lost/stolen luggage items at all.
Worst thing about this is that I used to work for Flight Centre who sell this insurance for Covermore - in all honestly I could never recommend their insurance to anyone anymore.
