I have just come back from Bali and there were a few problems with duty free for some of my friends who left before me.
One lady bought a bottle of Vodka in Perth which she opened in Bali and didn't finish it, when she went through customs in Dempasar she had the bottle taken off her as it was opened, even tho it was in her suitcase.
Then when we left Bali a lady and her hubby had 2 bottles of very expensive scotch which were unopened, she lost both bottles at Dempasar as she could not find the receipts for them to prove she bought them in Perth before she left.
So I think if you buy duty free and don't finish it all do what I did and give it to someone who drinks it who is staying in Bali and buy more on the way back.
