If you book and pay using a Travel Agent you pay GST on the accommodation and air fare as you are buying in Australia.
You can save some of that GST by booking your rooms direct with the hotel and paying on arrival, 10% saving straight away on room costs. I book direct with the hotel and always get a better price than what the TA's offer, so that is another saving.
I have used WEBJET for flights which were cheaper than the TAs, this time I booked direct with GARUDA which was cheaper again than WEBJET. For my 10 nights I will in effect be getting my first day or so on the ground for 'free'.
