Hi Phil
Booked flights with Jetstar on their website. No problems there.
Booked 2 hotels via Asiarooms - no problems there either and was really happy with the price i paid.
Tried to book a hotel with Agoda which showed as having a vacancy. They then emailed me and said it was full and could they book me in to somewhere twice the price?? No thanks!! They did not charge my credit card for the original booking and were fine to deal with in the end.
Booked a villa direct with the owners/managers via their website. No problems here either.
If you have the time and inclination to do a bit of research on the internet, it is well worth it financially! I went down to my local travel agent to see if they could do prices anywhere near as good a what i could find online, and they would not consider trying to price match a website that was not Australian. For the record, i would have been willing to pay a little extra thru a travel agent (i realise they have to make some money!) but their prices were usually double what was on Asiarooms.
Travel insurance was also organised online with no problems.
I would also like to mention that there is way more info on this forum than you can get from any travel agent, and so many people who are willing to give advice and opinions to make your trip a better informed one!
Have fun :)
