We too have a friend who has started calling us mamma and pappa. Over the years we have given him money and now he is married. Twice this year he has asked for money and it was around the time we had friends going who we had asked to take money up for him anyway. I was not happy that he asked. my husband thinks it is as thinks of us as family but our own kids here don't ask for money. he wanted it for a tv and for ceremony. i understand how people feel as i am not sure what to do in the future. Oh yes both these people have government jobs so are well paid by their standards.
