We paid a local fisherman in Amed to take us across the ocean to Gili Trawangan. We paid 800,000 Rp ($112 AUD) for the journey. We were warned that it was going to be a rough ride, but we found it pretty easy. We left at 6am with rain coats on and arrived at Gili T at 9am. If you do this, make sure you have garbage bags to put your bags inside. Our bags didnt get wet, but it is a good precaution. We did this journey at the end of Feb (rainy season) and still found the journey pretty easy.
