Lombok particularly Gilis and Kuta....

Been getting some fantastic info from here (thanks shaz etc.) about our upcoming visit to Lombok and Bali after a long absence.
We'd love to hear some recent advice and tips re. the flying over and ferry back and especially , good value places to stay and eat in the Gilis,Kuta Lombok and on Bali.
We'll be flying over on Garuda and staying 4 weeks so there's a bit of time for fun etc.
