Have just returned from a wonderful 10 days in Bali and the highlight was a first visit to meet my sponsor child at SD 3 Sobangan school.( through Noel Allen and the rotary club) What a wonderful experience.I have just retired from teaching in a state school that has everything but people still complain. I would like to take the 650 children to Bali for a week and see how they would cope!
To Merril (Merjan) you were spot on. The feeling when I left was amazing. Wayan the Librarian was not at the school last Sat. but I left your name with another Wayan.
I would encourage anyone who is thinking about sponsoring a child through any of the organizations available to do so.To see the smiling faces is an absolute joy.
I have been to Bali many times and once again felt safe and very welcome.
Flew Jetstar. Left Melb. on time but was 2 hours late leaving Bali. Then again that has happened before with Garuda and Qantas. Service on Jetstar was fine.Ordered the comfort pack...the blankets were a bit thin!
Several people I spoke to are asking for more Australians to come back to Bali. There were many Japanese tourists.
I always stay at Adi Dharma Cottages because I usually travel alone and I find the staff very friendly and I feel very safe. This year a friend came with me for her first visit and after getting over that first day culture shock she loved it. Spent 2 nights at Tegal Sari in Ubud.(beautiful)Used Perama bus to get there .
That's enough from me. It's my first try at a jbr after 17 visits and will probably be the only one!For those who read it thank's.
