Following the temporary suspension of services from Auckland to Brisbane and Bali last year, Garuda Indonesia regrets that this suspension of flights will continue beyond the 26th of March 2007 for the foreseeable future.

The extended suspension of the Auckland-Brisbane-Bali services is due to the lack of aircraft availability and is part of a broader rescheduling of services in Asia and the South West Pacific. Garuda Indonesia will however continue to review this situation and should there be any change in current market conditions will reassess its position.

Garuda Indonesia's New Zealand General Manager in Auckland, Mr. Ucok Cemerlang, said Garuda Indonesia would continue to maintain a presence in New Zealand to service the industry and New Zealand travellers.

'We truly regret the inconvenience to our loyal kiwi customers and will make sure that we uphold our New Zealand presence. To service continuing demand from travellers from New Zealand to destinations on the Garuda Indonesia network, we will continue to offer competitive fares with a number of airlines via Sydney and Melbourne,' says Mr. Cemerlang.

Garuda Indonesia remains optimistic about their future, given their long-term commitment to the New Zealand market extending over 18 years, as well as New Zealanders long-term loyalty to Bali.

'We would like to thank our loyal and valued industry partners and regular travellers for their support over the past 18 years and look forward to the time we can resume flights from New Zealand.'
