Social Visa

Hi. Love this forum...read it every day.
I hope someone can help me. I am applying for a Social Visa in a few months & was hoping I could get some help from the people here.
I will be in Bali in a couple of days & will get my sponsor to write his letter while I am there.
Can anyone tell me what information he needs to put in his letter?
Also, should he date it now or in a couple of months when i will be applying for the visa?
Also any other hints or tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
