The Aussie army did tests with all the repellants on the market a number of years ago and Bushmans came out on top.

I and my wife have used Bushmans all through SE Asia and found it to be brilliant. Take a spray to use on your head and the dry gel for arms and legs. It is about $15 for a tube of dry gel which should last a couple of weeks for 2 people and about $10 for a can of spray. Both have sunscreen versions as well.
