it is called Picaridin. The Australian Army recently did tests on a range of repellents and there is absolutely no doubt that DEET and Picaridin based repellents are FAR more effective than citronella or any other 'natural' products. Don't trust them to protect you from Dengue. Go the chemical route.

HOWEVER, Picaridin did come up as superior to DEET in terms of not being as irritating to skin. Therefore a better way to go for toddlers, I think. The only products I know of containing Picaridin are Autan (google this) and Avon's Skin So Soft - but only the part of their range advertised as insect repellent ie the Skin So Soft bath oil won't help you.
