There are several US bills that you will recieve a discounted rated of exchange on and some they will not take at all, it seems to change daily, HONEST (no exageration.) If you choose to take US bills, be sure they are nearly new...no marks on them and try to stay away from any notes other than those from the 2000's and take nothing less than $100 notes. Cash them with reputable money changers..I cannot stress the importance of this enough!!

Using an ATM is easy however there are fees involved. I've found that the fees are less when I use an ATM card from a credit union, vs a bank..and the fees will vary. I suggest that you take the maximum amount you can withdraw when using the machine to avoid fees...the max. amount is not much...I believe in rupiah it is only 2.500.00 rp per day. (approx. $275 USD) Someone may tell you that you can get more money daily...............however I have NOT found that to be true....I have tried many ATMs and many times...
