We bought our PS2 in Bali already chipped and that was 3years ago. We have had no problems and everything works fine.
Sell the one you have on Ebay and buy one already chipped when you get there.We bought ours from a large electronics shop in Denpaser,but you can also buy them from the electrical shop in Discovery Mall.
