If you send air freight, you dont have to pay duty and gst under $1000, and you can get away with not using a customs broker, but you will have paperwork to fill out and it is not easy. You can employ someone to do this and is recommended. I'M not sure how much they charge.
Contact one of the customs brokers who have an office at near the airport and find out the costs before you go.You can bring stuff for a business back in your suitcase, but you have to declare it and get all the paperwork filled in at the airport, usually leaving it there and picking up the next day when cleared.
Dont try to use false invoices for your goods to keep them under $1000 as customs are right onto this and dont try to send it back in lots of small parcels, as they are onto this as well. Not worth it to get a black mark before you even start.
It is cheaper to send it back sea freight with someone like Cathy Sharman, but because it is in a sea container, you will be charged duty and GST. Duty on clothing is 17 1/2 percent.
