Obviously you want to do it or you wouldn't have posted!
I don't have kids either, but the language of kids is universal. Show them love & attention & you get it back in spades. You don't have to be an 'expert' or a parent!
I sponsor a child thru Helen's organisation too. I met her briefly last year at the opening of the Learning Centre. In early March I am spending the day with her, visiting her home & school, kindly organised by Helen. If you like, I can email you with my experiences when I get back home - then you might have a better idea of what to expect.
