We stayed at the Adhi Dharma Hotel a few years back and my kids were playing with some other kids in the pool. anyway we struck up a conversation and the question of where we lived came up. We ended up finding out we lived in the same town and that I knew the young girls father through my work. They left the hotel a few days later and we were sitting in the lobby waiting for their transport and there was another couple there, once again the topic of where we lived came up and this young couple lived in the same town as us and were very good friends with my neighbours.
This year, we stayed at the BGH and I was in the Bar one night talking to people, the subject of work came up and I said what industry I was involved in and this guy, says he reckons he knows me, because he does catering for my industry, we'll it turns out that he does do the catering for my organisation and he is mad that he has to leave before Australia Day so that he can do the catering for a large function on Australia Day. It also turns out his mother in law, who was staying at the BGH as well comes from my town and knows a lot of the people I know.
Given my username, you may deduce that I am a swans fan, a few years back we were staying at the Bukungsari Hotel and there were some fellow BTF people there. Conversation turned to footy and they learnt how passionate I was about the Swans. Well a few weeks later I got an email from them and they said they wanted to send me something. The something was an autographed picture of Tony Lockett kicking his 1300th goal, they wanted it to go to someone that would appreciate it, it was put straight into a frame and holds pride of place in my office.
There are some more I think I just need to dredge the memory bank.
