That's cool. Every quote is different

For some it works out better one way, for some the other. I was merely saying that you can't tell it all from a stand alone quote on one single date. Jetstar's prices vary from day to day - as will Garuda's depending on if the lowest priced (package deal) seats have been sold yet or not.

I've never flown Jetstar so have no comment or opinion on their level of service. I just know I've been doing costings for a trip I'm planning in August and Jetstar really aren't showing up as being all that different in price - just less bells and whistles, and crappier flight times. The other thing I'm finding is that the accomodation I want is costing MORE to do stand alone than as part of a package - so that would negate any saving on airfare anyway.

I did ask my local Flight Centre who was doing the better prices overall - Jetstar or Garuda. Her reply was "If you really want it, I'll book Jetstar for you, but if you come back with complaints, I don't want to be hearing about it. I've heard them all a million times."

It was a bit of a turn off for me to hear an experienced travel agent tell me that, and I've read a few horror stories on here recently. I'm not talking about people wanting to "stuff their guts" as you so eloquently put it. I'm talking about bad experiences where things have gone wrong and shouldn't have - or lack of customer care when things did go wrong.

I'll still get quotes for both airlines when it comes time for actual real date quotes - and that's all I was saying in my initial post. I'd like to see package fares for Garuda compared against Jetstar. And again, it's always going to depend on the dates you choose as to what deal you get with each airline.
