I have just received notification from my travel insurance company that they will not cover me for asthma.
I have used this company several times before and have been very satisfied, I had a claim in September for eighty odd dollars, (for an unrelated problem ), nil excess, which they paid within ten days.
We are going back to Bali in March /April and sought prices from the same company, but this time, doing the right thing, I told them about a pre existing condition of asthma ( which has only started in the last two months), believing that if I paid an extra premium or increased excess for cover then I would be covered. But NO , they are happy to cover me( get my money)but not for asthma.
This tells me that I would be better off not being the honest type ,tell them nothing and if anything happens just make a claim and hope you get away with it .
What is the sense filling out pre existing condition form if the insurance company is not going to cover you anyway, no matter how much you are prepared to pay .
It goes against my grain to tell lies or scam but 'KUM if that's what I gotta do , that's what I gotta do.
