The mattresses are quite thick but the bases are just wood. A bit like what we used to call divans. Our bed was comfortable but firmish. I was glad to get back to our own bed. But hey, when on holiday, you have to expect that the comfort standards are not what you are used to.
Speaking of sleeping, you do tend to hear a bit of noise from neighbours at the Kartika. Also one night the plumbing in the loos seemed to want to flush by itself every 15 minutes. It drove me nuts!
But that was only one night and I slept like a log the other 13.
